Man Orestes really had a hard time of it. For my playwriting class I’m loosely rewriting The Eumenides (the third and final play of The Orestia) by Aeschylus, a play about Orestes and the torment he suffers from the Furies that follow him around endlessly. They torture him because he killed his mother Clytemnestra who killed his father Agamemnon, of whom he was obligated to avenge the death. Thing is, I’m trying to make it a comedy.
